Overview

Created by the University of Georgia, CIIDS was originally designed to support the Distance Diagnostics through Digital Imaging (DDDI) application. The DDDI application aids universities and commercial agriculture clients in submitting, diagnosing and distributing findings and treatment recommendations relating to plant diseases, infestations and other agrucultural problems. Following the success of this initial program, demand for creating flexible, responsive, internet accessible database systems became readily apparent. By working hand-in-hand with clients, CIIDS is able to provide customized applications, allowing organizations to solve problems by linking expertise, images and information across the world wide web. Current applications developed by CIIDS range from media libraries supporting art history departments to a proposal and grant submission system to an accident reporting management and tracking tool.
